Pregnancy Leave of Absence (Maternity Leave)

Maternity leave is the period of time a woman is allowed to be absent from her job because of her pregnancy. It can either be a pregnancy leave allowed by provincial or federal law or a leave that she and her employer have agreed to. It can also mean a pregnancy leave allowed by law that the employer requires her to take.

Proof of insurability is the additional information that the insuring agent requires regarding the client's health, job, and leisure activities to decide what coverage to provide.

The long-term disability waiting period is the amount of time the insured must wait after becoming disabled before being eligible for long-term disability payments.
